Note. – Mr. Maltby made a copy of an old tombstone which he read: “Elizabeth (and William?) Maltby, Thrumpton-on-the-Trent.” He remembered seeing this stone when a child. There may be, and probably is, a connection here with Charles Maltby, b. in 1848, eldest son of Joseph Maltby of Ilkestone, Derbyshire; he m. in 1871, Eliza Long. Residence “Dalby House,” Ilkestone R. S. O. Derbyshire.
